Abstract

This study will examine the effect of the sandwich generation role on the psychological well-being of young adults in Cirebon city who serve their parents and perform family roles. The website’s primary concentration is in how we deal with our family responsibilities and still look after our personal wellness, so that we may be able to live a more balanced and harmonious life. This research was conducted qualitatively with a phenomenological approach to explore the subjective experience of a sandwich generation worker aged 20-30 years in Cirebon City. The goal was to understand feelings, hopes and difficulties experienced by people caring for their parents and their siblings at home and how they take care of themselves in this double meaning. The findings indicated that some informants found themselves in the sandwich generation as a result of family needs. The present study demonstrates that the sandwich generation encounters tremendous difficulties of coping with their caregivers to their(her or his) parents and taking care of younger brothers and sisters while maintaining their health. While their job duties differ, good communication and stress management techniques, including taking time for themselves, benefits both. They aim to achieve financial stability and a more balanced share of responsibilities.
