Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors driving the banking sector to adopt environmentally friendly practices through green banking disclosure. The need for this is growing as natural resource exploitation increases and climate change impacts worsen, necessitating a shift toward sustainability in the banking industry. A systematic literature review was conducted, analyzing 60 articles published on Scopus.com between 2020 and 2024. The selected articles focus on keywords related to green banking across fields such as business, management, accounting, economics, finance, and social sciences, all in English. Bibliometric analysis was performed using VOS viewer. The findings show that research on green banking disclosure remains limited in the past decade. This study offers insights into the most cited articles, which can inform future research. It also outlines key corporate decisions and strategies linked to green banking disclosure, contributing to the theoretical development of the accounting framework, particularly in voluntary corporate social responsibility disclosures, and provides practical insights for financial institutions, policymakers, and academics on enhancing green banking and sustainability
