Abstract

Latar Belakang: Diabetes melitus (DM) masih merupakan masalah kesehatan di dunia termasuk Indonesia. Upaya untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah menggunakan tanaman herbal sebagai obat alternatif menggunakan kulit buah manggis konsentrasi 20% telah diteliti dapat menurunkan kadar gula dalam darah mencit.
Tujuan: Membuktikan apakah kulit buah manggis dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah pada mencit yang diberi pakan glukosa tinggi.
Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental dengan pendekatan pre and post test control group design yaitu membuktikan kulit buah manggis dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 20% dapat menurunkan gula darah pada mencit yang diberi pakan glukosa tinggi. Pengelompokan mencit dilakukan secara randomisasi menggunakan teknik simple random sampling.
Hasil Penelitian: Uji kemaknaan Kruskal Wallis yang didapat dari kelompok 5%, 10%, dan 20% adalah 0,002. Hasil uji beda non parametrik dari selisih kadar gula darah antar kelompok dengan uji Mann Whitney didapatkan hasil pemberian ketiga konsentrasi dalam empat minggu dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah secara signifikan.
Simpulan: Kulit buah manggis dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 20% selama empat minggu dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah mencit dengan pakan glukosa tinggi.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a health problem in the world including Indonesia. The efforts to reduce glucose levels using herbs as an alternative medicine use mangosteen peel the concentration of 20% that has been analysed can reduce glucose level in mice.
Purpose: To prove that mangosteen’s pell can reduce glucoselevel in mice with high glucose feeding.
Methods: This study used an experimental study with pre and post test control group design, to prove that 5%, 10%, and 20% mangosteen’s peel can reduce glucose level in mice with high glucose diet. Mice grouping were randomly assigned using simple random sampling.
Results: The obtained of significance test of Kruskal Wallis from groups 5%, 10%, and 20% was 0,002. The result of non-parametric different test of the glucose level diffference in groups by Mann Whitney test showed that the three of concentrations giving in four weeks can reduce glucose level significantly.
Conclusion: Mangosteen’s peel with a concentration of 5%, 10%, and 20% for four weeks can reduce glucose level of mice with high glucose diet.
