Abstract
Latar belakang: Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) adalah sekumpulan gejala
pada mata yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan komputer atau alat elektronik
lainnya dalam waktu cukup lama. Penyakit ini memiliki angka morbiditas yang
tinggi di seluruh dunia, khususnya di masa pandemi COVID-19 yang memaksa
kegiatan belajar mengajar dilakukan menggunakan sistem pembelajaran jarak jauh
(PJJ).
Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan penggunaan komputer selama pembelajaran jarak
jauh dengan Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) pada siswa SMA Negeri 1
Majalengka.
Metode: Penelitian analitik observasional dengan desain cross sectional yang
dilakukan pada bulan November 2021 – Juni 2022 di SMAN 1 Majalengka.
Penelitian ini melibatkan 307 orang siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui
pengisian kuesioner secara online melalui google formulir.
Hasil: Mayoritas siswa menggunakan komputer kurang dari 6 jam per hari
(56,4%), pada jarak kurang dari 45 cm (56,7%), dan 80,1% siswa mengalami
Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara durasi
penggunaan komputer dengan kejadian CVS (p = 0,18 untuk kelas X dan p =
0,257 untuk kelas XI). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara jarak penggunaan
komputer dengan kejadian CVS (p = 0,618 untuk kelas X dan p = 0,398 untuk
kelas XI).
Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara durasi dan jarak penggunaan
komputer dengan kejadian CVS pada siswa kelas X dan kelas XI SMAN 1
Majalengka.

Background: Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a symptom in the eyes caused
by the use of computers or other electronic devices for a long time. This disease
has a high morbidity rate worldwide, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic
which forces teaching and learning activities to be carried out using the long�distance learning system.
Objective: To determine the relationship between the use of computers during
long-distance learning system and CVS in Senior high school 1 Majalengka
students.
Methods: An observational analytic study with a cross sectional design conducted
in November 2021 – June 2022 at Senior high school 1 Majalengka. This study
involved 307 students. The data obtained by filling out the questionnaire.
Results: Majority of the students use computer less than 6 hours per day (56.4%),
at a distance of less than 45 cm (56.7%), and 80.1% of students experience CVS.
There was no relationship between the duration of computer use with the
incidence of CVS (p = 0.18 for 10th grade and p = 0.257 for class 11th grade).
There is no relationship between the distance of computer use with the incidence
of CVS (p = 0.618 for 10th grade and p = 0.398 for class 11th grade).
Conclusion: There is no relationship between duration and use of computers with
the incidence of CVS in 10th and 11th grade students of Senior high school 1
Majalengka.
