Code switching involves changing from one linguistic code (language or dialect) to another, influenced by the surrounding social situation or context of the conversation. This study investigates code switching in Youtube from the utterance made by Youtubers those with different mother tongues and are equally fluent in English and Indonesian, namely Boy William and Cinta Laura. The research applies descriptive qualitative approach. To selected the participants, the youtubers with ability in speaking foreign languages as bilingual or multilingual to meet the objective and the research question of this study through the largest online platform for sharing videos globally that is Youtube. The findings indicates, that youtubers do code switching while interviews on Youtube. The most why speakers do code switching because they want to emphasize a phrase or word by repeating it in two languages. And there is also there are many conversations that aim to include or exclude the interlocutor. The writer summarized that there are three types of code switching during interviews: Tagcode switching, Intra-sentential code switching, and Inter- sentential code switching. The most type from the data that often occurs is Inter- sentential switching with a total of ten data. The writer also summarized that there are six functions of code switching during interviews: Referential function, Directive function, Expressive function, Phatic function, Metalinguistic function and Poetic function. For the Directive function is the function most used by speakers during interviews on Youtube with a total of five data.
