Latar Belakang: Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian dini pada masyarakat di dunia dan semakin lama permasalahan hipertensi sebagai penyebab kematian dini semakin meningkat. Faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya hipertensi yang tidak dapat diubah seperti jenis kelamin, umur, dan genetik. Sedangkan, faktor yang dapat diubah yaitu obesitas, kebiasaan merokok.
Tujuan: Mengetahui gambaran distribusi frekuensi karakteristik hipertensi di Puskesmas Pesisir Kota Cirebon.
Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan di Puskesmas Pesisir Kota Cirebon pada bulan November 2021 sampai Juni 2022. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 147 orang dengan metode consecutive sampling. Data diambil menggunakan kuesioner, kemudian dianalisis secara univariat.
Hasil: Pasien hipertensi mayoritas berusia 56-65 tahun sebanyak 59 orang (40.1%). berjenis kelamin perempuan 113 orang (76.9%). Pekerjaan ibu rumah tangga 91 orang (61.9%). Tingkat pendidikan yaitu SD/Sederajat 57 orang (38.8%). Pendapatan keluarga rendah sebanyak 121 orang (82.3%) yang memiliki tanggungan 2 orang 46 (31.3%). Perokok kategori sedang sebanyak 13 orang (8.8%). Tidak mengalami obesitas sebanyak 78 orang (53.1%). Dan yang tidak ada riwayat hipertensi 93 orang (63.3%).
Kesimpulan: Sebagian besar penderita hipertensi berusia 56-65 tahun, jenis kelamin perempuan, pekerjaan ibu rumah tangga, tingkat pendidikan SD/Sederajat, pendapatan rendah, perokok kategori sedang, tidak obesitas dan mayoritas tidak ada riwayat genetik.

Background: Hypertension is one of the causes of premature death in the world community and the longer the problem of hypertension as a cause of death is increasing. Factors that influence the occurrence of hypertension that cannot be changed such as gender, age, and genetics. Meanwhile, the factors that can be changed are obesity and smoking habits.
Objective: To knowing the description of the frequency distribution of hypertension characteristics at the Pesisir Public Health of Cirebon.
Methods: This research is a descriptive study was held at Pesisir Public Health Cirebon in November 2021 until June 2022 . Samples were taken from as many as 147 people with the consecutive sampling method. Data was taken using a questionnaire, then it was analyzed through univariate.
Results: It shows that 59 hypertension patients aged 56-65 years old (40.1%). female gender 113 people (76.9%). The occupation of housewives is 91 people (61.9%). The level of education is SD/Equivalent to 57 people (38.8%). Low family income as many as 121 people (82.3%) who have 2 dependents 46 (31.3%). Medium category smokers were 13 people (8.8%). Not obese as many as 78 people (53.1%). And those who had no history of hypertension were 93 people (63.3%).
Conclusion: Hypertension patients mostly aged 56-65 years old, female gender, occupation of housewives, education level is SD, low family income, medium category smokers, not obese, and mostly no history of hypertension in family.
