Latar Belakang : Beberapa etiologi yang berperan dalam munculnya Acne Vulgaris adalah hipersekresi sebum, hiper keratinisasi, koloni P. acnes. membersihkan wajah efektif mengurangi hipersekresi sebum dan kotoran tanpa menghilangkan lipid barrier kulit. yang dapat mengurangi timbulnya acne vulgaris. Siklus menstruasi memiliki beberapa hormon yang berperan di antaranya FSH dan LH yang akan berpengaruh pada regulasi hormon androgen, progesteron, dan estrogen. Hormon merupakan faktor endogen penyebab terjadinya acne vulgaris.
Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan antara kebersihan wajah dan siklus menstruasi normal dengan kejadian Acne Vulgaris pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati.

Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan desain Cross Sectional. Responden dipilih menggunakan teknik Stratified random sampling, sehingga didapatkan sebanyak 223 mahasiswi sebagai responden. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner. Data yang didapat kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji chi square.

Hasil : Hasil analisis didapatkan nilai p=0,608 (> 0,050) pada hubungan antara kebersihan wajah dengan kejadian acne vulgaris. Dan pada hubungan antara siklus menstruasi normal dengan kejadian acne vulgaris didapatkan nilai p= 0,769 (>0,050).

Kesimpulan : Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara kebersihan wajah dan siklus menstruasi normal dengan kejadian acne vulgaris.

Introduction : Several etiologies that play a role in the emergence of Acne vulgaris are sebum hypersecretion, hyperkeratinization, P. acnes colony. Cleansing the face effectively reduces hypersecretion of sebum and dirt without removing the skin's lipid barrier. which can cause acne vulgaris. The menstrual cycle has several hormones that play a role including FSH and LH which will affect the regulation of the hormones androgen, progesterone, and estrogen. Hormones are endogenous factors that cause acne vulgaris.

Purpose : This study aims to determine the relationship between facial hygiene and normal menstrual cycles with the incidence of Acne vulgaris in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati.

Methods : This study uses an analytic observational method with a cross sectional design. Respondents were selected using stratified random sampling technique, so that there were 223 female students as respondents. Data collection was done by filling out a questionnaire. The data obtained were then analyzed using the chi square test.

Result : The results of the analysis obtained p value = 0,608 (> 0.050) on the relationship between facial hygiene and the incidence of acne vulgaris. And on the relationship between normal menstrual cycles and the incidence of acne vulgaris, p value = 0.769 (> 0.050).

Conclusion : There is no significant relationship between facial hygiene and normal menstrual cycle with the incidence of acne vulgaris.
