Abstract

Instructional design is a tool used by teachers to organize learning. However,
making teaching designs is challenging because, as teachers, we must consider
various aspects to make teaching designs beneficial to students for a long time.
Often, there are problems in designing teaching-learning, starting from the
difficulty of finding authentic materials, even copying someone else's learning
design. The same thing is also done and happens to pre-service teachers as people
who will become teachers in the future. Based on this background, the problem
formulations in this study include: 1) What are the results of the instructional design
analysis made by a pre-service teacher based on the Kemp Models, 2) What causes
pre-service teacher deficiencies in designing instructional design, and 3) What is
the solution to deal with the problem. The objectives of this study are: 1) Knowing
the results of the analysis of instructional designs made by pre-service teachers
based on the Kemp Models, 2) Finding out what causes pre-service teacher
deficiencies in designing instructional design, and 3) Looking for solutions to deal
with the problems. This research uses a qualitative method with a content analysis
approach. The research subjects were selected using a purposive sampling
technique. Data were collected using questionnaires, documents (lesson plans), and
interviews. This study showed that pre-service teachers implemented the Kemp
instructional design model in the teaching design they made for the learning process
in the classroom. Meanwhile, the causes of the difficulties experienced by preservice teachers are that they still lack the knowledge to make instructional learning
designs, so at the stage of making learning activities, they experience problems with
obstacles in selecting and using vocabulary and developing teaching materials or
media. The solution expected by pre-service teachers is in the form of assistance
from teachers and lecturers to provide monitoring, experience, and knowledge from
them as parties considered experts in the field of education in the form of teaching
and learning.
