Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out teachers' expectations of parental
involvement in their children's English language learning. The method used in this
research is a case study qualitative and interview were chosen as a data collection
technique in order to know what expectations they have and which one is fulfilled
and unfulfilled. The result of the study stated that during their teaching at some
small grades classes, they obviously have expectations for parents, be it for good
two ways of communication between parents and teachers, hoping that the parents
will have an involvement in their children's English language learning at home,
and facilitate the children some supporting aspects to help them improve their
English language ability. The expectation stated by teachers are delivered to the
parents and as a result, researchers find out from those expectations, which are
fulfilled and unfulfilled.
